Labour has delayed the much-needed redevelopment of Watford General Hospital, a project that would transform healthcare in our community.
Delaying this project will prolong the time patients spend in hospital facilities, and will reduce quality of care.
This is a political choice by Labour who have prioritised pleasing unions over critical infrastructure investments, now costing lives and money.
This redevelopment has cross-party support across Hertfordshire. Labour, Lib Dem, and Conservative representatives at both the County Council and in Parliament. We all recognise the urgent need for these modern facilities, why can’t this Labour Government?
Watford General is ready to proceed. The land is secured, planning permission is in place, and the Trust has shown it can deliver results. Labour needs to prioritise this project and deliver for our patients and staff.
I will continue to fight for this redevelopment to ensure our community gets the healthcare facilities it deserves.
