Today, I’ve been in Parliament for one of the 13 allocated Sitting Fridays in the House of Commons.
Sitting Fridays are reserved for Private Members’ Bills, and today we debated a range of important topics, including the New Homes (Solar Generation) Bill, the Climate and Nature Bill, the Fireworks Bill, and the Licensing Hours Extension Bill.
Several constituents have contacted me about these issues, and I was glad to attend these debates. Private Members’ Bills are an important part of our democracy and parliamentary process, giving individual MPs the chance to bring forward legislation that reflects their constituents.
