Following a number of constituent emails, Gagan Mohindra spent a day in the constituency visiting a range of Health and Social Care providers to discuss the challenges they are facing and how he can support them as their Member of Parliament.
Gagan's first visit of the day started at Ashlyns Care Home in Berkhamsted where he met Diane and Kelly. The team at Ashylns Care Home are doing an excellent job in supporting residents, and in his discussions with their management team, Gagan discussed staffing, administrative difficulties and their relationship with local hospitals. They also spoke about the need for defibrillators and following the meeting Gagan will be speaking to relevant authorities to try and make this more accessible in care homes such as Ashlyns.
Gagan later visited New Road Surgery in Croxley Green where he met the Practice Manager Cat and Clare who provided Gagan with examples of the issues currently facing General Practice here locally. Finally, Gagan finished the day by visiting Dave’s Pharmacy in Rickmansworth where Gagan spoke about pharmacy funding and customer levels.
Following these conversations, Gagan commented: "These visits were incredibly useful for me and I am extremely thankful to all of those I met today who do vital work locally in supporting our communities. I will continue to feedback the valuable information I got today to relevant Ministers to ensure they are aware of pressures felt here in South West Hertfordshire."
