Gagan Mohindra addressed the concerns of a number of local farmers in a meeting alongside the National Farmers Union.
Gagan held a roundtable with farmers from his constituency and the National Farmers Union to address their concerns surrounding workforce, rural crime and food security. This led Gagan to asking, in Treasury OPQs, whether they would reconsider increasing the VAT threshold to aid in farmers ability to employ staff and grow their businesses. However, the Treasury has chosen to maintain the VAT threshold.
Gagan said “It was a pleasure meeting local farmers and I hope to resolve their concerns regarding workforce, rural crime and food security. I look forward to continuing these conversations and finding a way to further aid farmers.”
Gagan is keen to support farmers to the best of his abilities and hopes to continue working closely with them.
