Following the news of the closure of the Barclays Bank branch in Rickmansworth, Gagan Mohindra visited the branch in order to discuss the impact that this would have on local residents and what the future services provided to the town would look like.
Gagan met with the Branch Manager and fellow Barclays representatives to hear more on the new service provisions to replace the building in to allow the town to continue to access banking services. Barclays informed Gagan that there would be a face-to-face service available in Rickmansworth Library on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. This will provide customers with the opportunity to speak physically with a Barclays employee to get any assistance they may need. Additionally, services to carry out transactions or get access to cash will be available inside Rickmansworth Post Office.
Following the meeting, Gagan said: "Whilst it is disappointing that the branch itself will be closing, I am pleased that Barclays have agreed to have a pop-up service so that Rickmansworth residents can continue to access essential services. I know how important this is to many in the local community, especially those who have difficulties using online services. I will continue to work with banks across the constituency to protect consumers' access to physical banking."
