The Kickstart scheme has been very successful in helping young people into paid, six month placements across the private, public and voluntary sectors.
After a year of employment uncertainty, particularly for young people, Gagan Mohindra MP is fully supportive of the decisive action that the Government is taking to help 16 to 24-year-olds to gain experience, build skills and boost their career prospects.
The scheme is open to employers of all sizes to create new Kickstart roles. Employers will need to show that the Kickstart role is an additional job that will provide the experience and support a young person needs to improve their chances of permanent employment. Funding available for each job will cover the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions where applicable.
If you think that your organisation would like to provide a life-changing opportunity to a young person, find out more information here.
