After receiving a number of emails from concerned constituents surrounding current strike action in the United Kingdom, Gagan Mohindra took part in a House of Commons debate on the Government's newly-introduced Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill. The proposed legislation seeks to ensure that crucial public services can continue to operate in the case strike action by workers occur.
In his contribution, Gagan highlighted the importance of supporting those who rely on key services such as the rail network and raised concern that current strike action is affecting those most vulnerable the hardest. He praised public sector workers for the vital role they have played both pre and post COVID-19.
As a champion of High Streets and local businesses following his time working for his family-run furniture retail business, Gagan's closing remarks brought light to the fact these strikes are negatively affecting High Street and businesses across the country due to a reduction in available transport options for many as a result of public transport strikes.
