Last Friday, I was delighted to host my annual school debating competition in Parliament, providing a fantastic opportunity for students from across South West Hertfordshire to showcase their debating skills.
The competition featured outstanding performances from students representing Rickmansworth School, St Clement Danes, Croxley Danes, Parmiter’s, Merchant Taylors, The Reach Free School, and Kings Langley School. The level of debates were truly exemplary, and it was a privilege to witness the passion and talent on display.
A huge thank you to our judges, who generously gave their time to support the event: Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss CBE CStJ, Cllr Reena Ranger, Hertfordshire PCC Jonathan Ash-Edwards, Cllr Caroline Clapper, and former Watford MP Dean Russell.
Congratulations to Rickmansworth School on their well-deserved victory! I’m already looking forward to seeing what next year’s competition will bring.
