Gagan Mohindra welcomed the Housing Minister, Stuart Andrew, to Berkhamsted to talk to local residents about protecting South West Hertfordshire's Green Belt areas.
The Three Rivers District Council continues to delay publishing a Local Plan until at least 2025 and the local Liberal Democrat councillors are telling residents that it is Government targets rather than the lack of a Local Plan that is destroying green spaces in South West Hertfordshire. Gagan was pleased that the Housing Minister was able to provide clarity on this for those in attendance and that he was committed to ensuring the need for new developments would be balanced with protecting the Green Belt under this Conservative Government.
Gagan said “It’s crucial the Three Rivers District Council publish a Local Plan as soon as possible to protect our beautiful Green-Belt land rather than blaming Government housing targets.”
