Gagan Mohindra welcomed the Secretary of State for Transport, Mark Harper, to Carpenders Park to highlight resident's concerns surrounding the Mayor of London's plans to extend London's Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) to all London boroughs.
Since this announcement from Sadiq Khan, Gagan has strongly opposed the roll-out and signed a joint letter with Conservative colleagues to the Mayor of London to make clear that this decision will likely impact many vulnerable families.
Gagan commented: "At a time of rising prices, many people across South West Hertfordshire simply cannot afford either to pay Mayor Khan’s daily £12.50 charge or buy a new compliant vehicle. I am deeply concerned that this will hit a number of hard-working and financially vulnerable residents in South West Hertfordshire. I am pleased to have been joined by the Transport Secretary this morning so he could hear first-hand how many of my constituents will be impacted if the Mayor's plans go ahead."
