During November, Gagan Mohindra MP visited three schools across the constituency to meet with students and introduce them to the UK Parliament.
UK Parliament Week is a celebration of politics and the role of democracy in the UK. It aims to encourage children to take action and make an impact on the issues they care about. Throughout the week over 9000 activities were arranged, reaching one million people across the UK.
On the following week Gagan visited Tring School and met with two classes of A-level students to discuss the UK election system, the role of MPs and careers in politics. The visit was scheduled as part of Tring School’s careers month in which students were encouraged to learn about a range of careers and future opportunities.
Following the visits, Gagan said: “It is always a pleasure to visit South West Hertfordshire schools and to raise awareness of UK politics. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with students who asked lots of insightful questions and I thank the schools for inviting me.”
