Gagan recently met with Network Rail and Govia Thameslink Rail (GTR) to discuss the closure of the Hemel Hempstead – East Croydon service. Like you, Gagan was deeply disappointed by this announcement and as a commuter, he shares your concerns over the inconvenience and stress this will cause constituents.
In the meeting, Gagan shared constituents’ frustrations and concerns as well as my concern for the impact that this will have on passengers with accessibility issues. Gagan has been assured that the cancelled journey will only add on 6 minutes to journey times to change at Watford Junction onto the East Croydon service and that, from June, it will be possible to change trains on the same platform at Harrow and Wealdstone station.
Despite this setback, Gagan will continue campaigning hard for my constituents for healthy and reliable transport for all constituents in South West Hertfordshire and he hopes the service might be reinstated in the future. If you have been affected by these cancellations, Gagan wants to hear from you. Please email him at [email protected] to tell him how this has affected your journey and he will put your concerns to Network Rail and GTR.
