78 years ago, allied soldiers liberated Auschwitz Concentration Camp and exposed the world to the true horrors of the Nazi regime. Whilst decades have passed since this barbarism occurred, it is vital that we remember and learn from humanity's worst mistakes to ensure that they are never repeated.
To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, Gagan signed the Holocaust Educational Trust's Commemeration Book in Parliament on behalf of South West Hertfordshire. In the constituency, Gagan attended a Holocaust Memorial Service at St Mary's Church in Hemel Hempstead before joining Three Rivers District Councillors and other esteemed guests at a moving remembrance event at the council's offices in Rickmansworth.
Gagan commented: "It has been an incredibly moving day, especially at the Three Rivers event where we watched a 15 minute video by Holocaust Learning UK which includes contributions from Holocaust survivors. I am deeply humbled to have been invited to these events and represent South West Hertfordshire residents."
